MOONBI LOOKOUT

Public BBQ

Moonbi Lookout offers spectacular panoramic views stretching kilometres across the landscape towards Tamworth. The elevated observation tower provides sweeping vistas of the surrounding countryside, particularly impressive in the morning light. The site features multiple picnic tables, making it popular for lunch breaks and picnics, with a short walk from the car park to the lookout platform and a few stairs to reach the top. A small shaded seating area sits at the base. The facilities include long drop toilets, generally well-maintained. The large open area attracts overnight campers and caravans, transforming the once-quiet rest stop into an informal camping ground. Access is via sealed road, though reports vary on road conditions. Some graffiti is present. The location serves as a convenient rest stop for travellers, offering ample parking and space to stretch your legs.
